Couples therapy aims to help you understand yourself and your partner in a deeper way. A greater understanding for each other can lead to changes and that the relationship gets a better balance. Couples who seek to couples therapy doesn´t necessarily need to have big conflicts it can also be good for couples who wants support in developing their relationship further. Couples therapy can also be used if you want to explore your relationship, if you should continue or not.

The sessions

The initial session/s usually starts off taking place individually and then finished off together, with the remainder of the sessions as a couple. The purpose of the initial session/s is to get an understanding of the problem and to make goals for the treatment. The therapy can provide increased acceptance, new ways in how to communicate and different problem-solving methods..The therapy is solution-focused and change-oriented interventions are used in the treatment. Structured exercises, self-helping books and different homework is a part of the treatment. The treatment is usually between 5-15 sessions.
